Katharina Findlay

Originally from a small town in Germany, Kat made the move to the United States 24 years ago and has since built a dynamic career in hospitality and property management. After living and working along the East Coast, including Maryland, Charleston, and Fort Lauderdale, she earned her Master’s degree in Hotel & Tourism Management from Florida International University.Kat later relocated to Kona, where she has held a variety of leadership roles across hotels and vacation rental operations. Her experience includes overseeing mixed-use properties with whole and fractional ownership, supporting homeowner association management, serving as Director of Front Office with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, Manager of Business Development with Grand Welcome, General Manager of the Pacific 19 Hotel, where she led the renovation and reopening of the property, and most recently General Manager at CoralTree Residence Collection. Kat now calls Captain Cook home, where she lives with her husband, an enthusiastic collection of animals, and a deep appreciation for everything the Big Island has to offer, from exploring new hiking trails to discovering great local food. While Hawai?i’s warm climate is a dream, she and her husband are also passionate snowboarders and skiers, and still have “skiing Mauna Kea” on their someday list.
